Kirk Hill Bridge update
After the meetings in the last two days at which the Parish Council were represented along with neighbouring Parish Councils and James Naish MP, we can confirm the following. Network Rail will commence the work on Kirk Hill bridge next Monday 29th September.Full road closures as listed below will begin on Monday 6th October until July 2026. It must stated that these road closures have been requested by Network Rail, not the Parish Council or VIA (who will issue the orders). All road closures will be enforced with concrete barriers.Hungary Lane at the railway bridgeLandcroft Lane after the University entranceDark Lane West Leake at the junction with main StreetBrickyard Lane at the junction with Travells HillButt Lane Normanton at the railway bridgeDiversions will be signed via A60, A6 A453 from various locations.The Parish Council would ask residents to please park on driveways and parents who are dropping off children at school not to try three point turns on Park Lane and all drivers to please Park on the school side of Park Lane only. We would encourage people to look at the schools initiative to park on people's driveways. When problems with signage occurs please contact the clerk to the Council as we will have a single point of contact with Network Rail and its contractors.If flooding occurs will we have plans in place with our Flood Wardens .Please remember this work affects all local villages and traffic in the area will increase so please take care on our roads.
