Village roads - resurfacing
We have been informed that a number of roads in the village will be subject to resurfacing in the next few months commencing with Bollards Lane. This will be followed by Pasture Lane, Orchard Close, Landcroft Lane, Charnwood Fields and Gables Lea.Details of exactly when work will take place will be sent in the normal way by VIA and will be posted on the website and social media.

Roadworks - Main Street & Bollards Lane
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Bollards Lane – for its full length of road.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading in the following length of road:-
Main Street (Both sides, 08:00-15:30) – 30 metres either side of its junction with Bollards Lane.

Marle Pitt Hill - road works
Residents will be aware of the recent road works bulletin in respect of works on Marle Pit Hill.The Parish Council have established that these works are not to rebuild the wall but to make safe the current temporary barriers. The actual rebuilding of the wall is still out to tender by Network Rail who do not expect the full works to be started until next year.

Temporary road closure - Pasture Lane
We have been notified that there will be a temporary road closure for Pasture Lane in place from 08:00 on the 23rd November to 15:30 on the 29th November.

Temporary restrictions - 4 November 2023
Temporary Prohibitions will be in place on Main Street, Marle Pit Hill, Park Lane and Landcroft Lane from 16:00 hours until 20:00 hours on Saturday 4th November 2023.

Temporary traffic signals - Marle Pitt Hill
Temporary two way traffic signals will be installed on Marle Pitt Hill from the 10.00 to 14:00 on Thursday 26th October, see attached.

Marle Pitt Hill works - update
The Parish Council have received an update on the works on Marle Pit Hill. Network Rail have yet to award the tender for the works to reinstate the wall in its current form. It is now expected that works will not commence until early next year, and soon as we have more information we will keep everyone informed.
